Good morning everybody! It is a hard sentence to understand, though I think what mother meant is that you can not control everything, especially people who are so different from each other, but when you do it is because you have done something wrong.
Hi there! I go along with Marina, it's quite odd!! Anyway, for me what mother is trying to say is that it's not correct or it's not normal to have sb's family under control. Arguments and shouts are part of any kind of family and there's nothing wrong with that.
hey!! I believe that mum wants to say that if you really love your children and family, you must let them be the way they are. If you have them under control, you are wrong. Having arguments and different perspectives in the same family is part of life. But no matter what you think, family will be there to advice you, not to say what you have to do. Take care~!! C U!
I go along with what the girls have already said. Having everything under control means that you organice and plan all around you so as nothing goes wrong. But you can't control your children's thoughts and actions, you should let them be the way their are. Mother says she isn't sure about being proud of her children because she thinks they sometimes misbehave, quarrel with each other, or are rude to her. But she knows deeply how much pride she feels for them, becuase they are happy and they can choose freely what to be in life.
Hi everybody!. as my classmates have already said, It's very difficult to get the meaning of this sentece but I guess that what mom wants to say is that if you are always telling your siblings what to do and not, this may end up with problems with them. So, it means that you should let your children be as they are and do what they want.. That's all, CU!
Hi guys!!! This is a real difficult statement to understand. I believe that all of us try to have control over certain things, but, not always have the results we had expected. I suposse that what mother wanted to say was that perhaps she was hoping her children were more alike, or really could share some similar likes so that their relationship would be better, but in fact, trying perhaps to achieve that, she ended up achieving something even more important: that the family was together whatever problem or difficulty appeared, and although they were all different in all respect, they accepted and loved each other and the bound among them was unbreakable. This was a hard one! I have been thinking about it for some time... but I've finally concluded that nobody can control other people's life. Not even in a family. Like branches on a tree, we all grow in different directions yet our root remain as one. We are different, we want different things, we have different dreams, but we are part of the same group. We share a story, memories, anecdotes. Sometimes, mothers want to control their kids but I believe that the more control they receive, the more rebel they seem to be. Mothers should let their kids fly, grew and discover the world. We are always coming back to your arms.

I consider that in this statement Mother in a way accepts she can’t control her family’s feelings, reactions and way of relating each other. However, she is conscious that the fact of having all of them under control would mean to be wrong somewhere. I mean, her kids will probably obey her and make a great effort to get on well and act as she wants. But all that will just derive on them repressing their real way of being; and it is there, where Mother would go terribly wrong. It makes no sense to have your family living as you like if you’re denying them the possibility of expressing their own wishes and thoughts.

Besides, at the same time she wants to have the house as clean as possible. But of course, sometimes you plan everything to be the way you want it. Well, bad news for mother then. You can´t control everything, no matter how many times you try it. People´s feelings cannot be controlled as well as some behaviors. What I mean is that children act the way mother wants and they do some of the things mother considers appropriate. But other things are done the way they want without caring about mother´s opinion. REMEMBER: It´s not bad to control your family but if you do it, you will need to bear in mind that each of us has a different personality, different feelings and desires. So don´t expect everything to be the way you want or you plan because for sure, it´s not going to be like that. This is just my opinion! Good luck!

Well I believe this statement is completely true, because you can do many thing with your family, like love them, be there to help and support them, but to control them is not in the list for sure. Why? It seems to me that what mother wants to say is that we can always support our family, but what we cannot do is to control them. As we know, many of us love the idea of having control of other people`s life, but that is something totally useless and at the same time completely selfish. We should take into account our beloved people`s opinions, but the steps we decide to make, are the ones we want to do.
